So who is Paul Flush you might ask, and why should anyone be

interested? Well, in a way just one more musician/composer in the world

who tries to make a profession of his music and hopefully produces some

interesting work from time to time. Like other professional-yet-not-too-

famous musicians I have actually played exciting and high-profile gigs in

all kinds of styles and present in this website a few pages of info to

demonstrate this, and to act as publicity for ongoing projects and future

possibilities. It is also a short biography and might even bring some extra

work my way!

Biography Stuff:

I was born in Newcastle (in the North of England) and encouraged to study music by

my father, a well known violinist. At 16 I left school to work in the country's top nightclubs,

and played for many famous performers of the period including Billy Eckstein,Tony Hancock,

Nancy Wilson, and The Four Tops. After this period of practical experience, I went on to

gain diplomas from the London College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music,

and this interest in more serious composition and performance has continued to influence my later

work. The North of England was for many years the source of much important musical experience

including radio and T.V broadcasting. From 1978 to 1983 I worked for TFM Radio producing

live music sessions, writing and performing many commercials and jingles, and I was responsible

for the writing, arranging and production of complete ident packages for several commercial radio

stations including TFM, Viking Radio, and RTHK (Hong Kong). I also played on many of THE TUBE

sessions providing the playback recordings for visiting Americans such as Eddie Grant, Grandmaster

Mel and Eartha Kitt. Even Madonna's 'Holiday' had to be re-recorded for the programme!

From 1989-1993 I was the Musical Director for singer Tony Christie, (whose hit 'Amarillo'

had world-wide success and who still enjoys a huge following in Germany with many hit records

and albums), so continuing an association that has spanned many years. In fact, much to everyone's surprise

Amarillo became a No. 1 hit again in 2005 thanks to Comic Relief, and was the biggest selling single last year. This

resulted in two major tours which included a fantastic gig at the Royal Albert Hall for which I was again the proud

MD! More 'Touring with TC' to come in November 2006 thanks to a new album "Simply in Love" to be

released in October. This will be with Martin Taylor on guitar and Guy Barker on trumpet.

I have been interested in computer aided printing of music since its early introduction onto PCs,

and hopefully will be publishing some new compositions for Trombone and Piano in 2006.

Other successful projects are described in their various contexts in the relevant pages on this site.
